Healthy Nano Fish,
Carefully Shipped
Every fish we sell is quarantined for a minimum of two weeks in our own facility before it ships to you. We won’t ship a fish we wouldn’t keep in our own tanks.
Popular Fish for Planted Aquariums
Beginner-friendly species — schooling fish, bottom dwellers, and algae eaters, all quarantined before shipping.
Every fish spends a minimum of two weeks in quarantine at our facility. We treat with medication when needed and only ship fish that are eating well and showing no signs of illness.
Fish ship in insulated boxes with oxygen-rich bags and a free heat or cold pack appropriate to the season and your destination. Every detail of the pack is designed to protect them in transit.

Fish That Were Ready
Before They Shipped
-
Two Weeks Minimum, No Exceptions
Every fish we receive goes into quarantine for at least two weeks. We don’t list them until they’re eating well, behaving normally, and showing no signs of illness.
-
Treated When Needed
During quarantine, fish that need it are treated with medication. We don’t ship a fish that’s still recovering or hasn’t cleared a full treatment course.
-
Overnight Shipping Is the Rule, Not the Option
Fish don’t tolerate long transit times. We ship all fish orders via Next Day Air so they spend as little time in the box as possible.

A Family Business That Cares
We’re a small family operation running this out of Iowa. When you reach out with a question, you’re talking to the same people who packed your box.
Overnight Is How We Protect Them
Fish are living animals. The longer they spend in transit, the more their water degrades, their oxygen depletes, and their stress compounds. Overnight shipping isn’t a premium — it’s the baseline that gives them a real chance at a healthy arrival.
Every fish shipment goes out in an insulated box with an appropriate free heat or cold pack. We pack based on the season and your destination to help maintain a safe temperature range in transit.
A fish that spends 24 hours in transit is very different from one that spends 72. Overnight shipping minimizes that window so your fish arrive before the bag conditions degrade.
When your box arrives, float the bags in your aquarium for 15–20 minutes to equalize temperature. Add small amounts of tank water over 20–30 minutes before netting fish in. Don’t dump the bag water.
Fish orders ship Monday through Thursday via Fedex Priority Overnight. We do not offer 2-Day shipping for fish — it isn’t safe for live animals.

by Species
Many nano fish are kept alongside shrimp in planted aquariums, but compatibility isn’t universal. Some species are generally lower risk with adult shrimp — others may target shrimplets or stressed, molting adults given the opportunity.
As a general rule, small schooling fish with mouths too small to eat adult shrimp tend to be lower risk. Corydoras are generally fine — they’re bottom feeders with no real interest in healthy adults. Other species can vary based on tank size, individual temperament, and how well-planted the setup is.
The safest approach: check the product page before you order. We note species-specific guidance where we can. If you’re unsure, reach out and we’ll give you an honest answer.
