Seachem Flourish Tabs are growth-stimulating substrate tablets specifically designed to deliver nutrients directly to plant root zones. Rich in iron, manganese, magnesium, calcium, potassium, inositol, choline B12, biotin, and essential trace elements — compounds that have been shown to be particularly beneficial to aquatic plant roots. Contain no phosphate or nitrate, which means they feed the plants without contributing to algae-promoting nutrient buildup in the water column.
Especially effective for heavy root feeders like Cryptocoryne, Amazon Sword, and Vallisneria, where liquid column fertilizers are less effective because the roots do most of the nutrient uptake. Each tab feeds for approximately 3–4 months before needing replacement. Tabs will not alter pH and break down slowly in the substrate, releasing nutrients gradually over time.

Why It Works
Product Highlights
01
Root-Zone Delivery
Nutrients go directly where rooted plants need them most — in the substrate near the roots. Particularly effective for Cryptocoryne, Sword plants, and Vallisneria.
02
No Phosphate or Nitrate
Flourish Tabs contain no phosphate or nitrate, so they fertilize your plants without contributing to algae-promoting nutrient buildup in the water column.
03
Lasts 3–4 Months
Each tab feeds continuously for 3–4 months as it slowly breaks down in the substrate, reducing the frequency of intervention compared to liquid dosing.
How to Use
How to Use
Push one Flourish Tab into the substrate for every 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) of root zone radius. Distribute tabs evenly throughout the planted area and push each tab midway into the gravel or sand bed, close to the roots of the plants you want to feed. A standard 10-gallon aquarium typically requires about 6 tabs.
Replace tabs every 3–4 months for continuous plant nutrition. In very soft or unbuffered water, tabs may have slightly acidic properties similar to peat moss — this is normal. Tabs do not need to be removed as they break down slowly and any residue continues to provide nutrients.

Pairs Well With
Complete Your Setup
Pair equipment with the supplies needed to finish the setup.
Heavy root-feeding plants see the most benefit: Cryptocoryne, Amazon Sword, Red Melon Sword, Vallisneria, and other rosette or substrate-rooted species. Epiphytes like Anubias and Java Fern, which don’t root in substrate, are better served by liquid column fertilizers.
How do I know when to replace them?+
Replace tabs every 3–4 months. Signs that plants may need a new tab include yellowing leaves (especially in older growth), slowed growth, or thin, weak stems.
How many tabs does a 10-gallon tank need?+
A standard 10-gallon aquarium typically requires about 6 tabs, spaced one per 4–6 inch radius throughout the planted area.
What is the free shipping threshold?+
Free shipping on plants and dry goods at $75+.
Are Flourish Tabs safe for shrimp?+
Yes — Flourish Tabs are safe for freshwater shrimp when used as directed. Push them fully into the substrate so they are not exposed at the surface where shrimp can directly contact them.
Will they affect my water parameters?+
Flourish Tabs will not alter pH in normally buffered water. In very soft or unbuffered water they may have slightly acidic properties similar to peat moss. They contain no phosphate or nitrate.
How is it shipped?+
Packed securely and shipped Monday through Thursday via standard ground shipping. Plants and dry goods ship free at $75+. Transit times vary by location.
Can I order this with livestock?+
Yes. Dry goods can ship together with livestock orders.
