Neocaridina davidi
Why We Love This Shrimp
Electric color against dark substrate
Beginner-friendly, wide pH range
Natural algae and biofilm grazer
Peaceful community invertebrate
Breeds readily in stable water
Quarantined before every shipment
The Neocaridina Skittles Pack is a curated mix of Neocaridina davidi color morphs — reds, blues, oranges, greens, blacks, and whites, selected from our active livestock inventory. The exact morphs vary based on what's in stock, but every pack includes a range of colors that work together in a shared tank.
All shrimp in the Skittles Pack are Neocaridina — they share the same water parameters, same beginner-friendly care requirements, and same temperament. The morphs are all compatible in the same tank. Over time, if different morphs breed, offspring may display mixed or transitional coloration — this is natural for Neocaridina kept together.
Every shrimp is quarantined and health-checked at our facility before shipping. We run over 100 dedicated aquariums on-site. The Skittles Pack is one of the most efficient ways to stock a planted tank with color from day one.
Care Notes
All Neocaridina in the Skittles Pack share the same care requirements. Stability matters more than perfection — avoid sudden swings in temperature, pH, or GH. Drip acclimation on arrival is essential. Do not use copper-based medications in a shrimp tank. Feed a small amount 3–4 times per week; remove uneaten food after 24 hours. A mature tank with established biofilm is the best environment.

Expert Advice
Razz Aquatics Recommendation
The Skittles Pack works best in a tank with dark substrate and green planting — the contrast makes every color morph visible at once. Java Moss, Anubias, or any dense stem plant gives the shrimp grazing surfaces and shrimplets cover. A sponge filter is essential — it keeps babies safe and maintains gentle flow that Neocaridina prefer.

Common Questions
Neocaridina Skittle Pack FAQ
What colors will I receive in the Skittles Pack?+
The exact mix varies based on what morphs are in stock at the time of your order. You'll receive a variety of color morphs — typically including reds, blues, oranges, and other colors from our Neocaridina inventory. We aim to send as much variety as possible.
Are Neocaridina Skittles Packs good for beginners?+
Yes. All morphs in the Skittles Pack are Neocaridina — the most beginner-friendly freshwater shrimp in the hobby. Wide pH tolerance, easy care, and active breeders in stable conditions.
How are Skittles Packs shipped?+
Professionally packed in an insulated box with a heat or cold pack matched to your local weather forecast. Livestock ships Monday through Thursday and delivers Tuesday through Friday. Choose your preferred delivery date at checkout.
Can Skittles Pack shrimp live with fish?+
Yes, with the right species. Ember Tetras, Pygmy Corydoras, Otocinclus, and Celestial Pearl Danios are all safe choices. Avoid any fish large enough to swallow a shrimp. Dense planting provides cover for shrimplets.
Can I keep different Neocaridina color morphs in the same tank?+
Yes — all Neocaridina davidi morphs are the same species with the same care requirements. They coexist peacefully. Keep in mind that if different morphs breed together, offspring may show mixed coloration over time. If you want to maintain pure color lines, keep morphs in separate tanks.
What water parameters do these shrimp need?+
pH 6.5–8.0, temperature 65–80°F, GH 6–8, KH 2–4. All morphs in the pack share these requirements. Most conditioned tap water works well.
Is there a live arrival guarantee?+
Yes — 100% Live Arrival Guarantee on every order. Photo any DOA in the sealed bag on the day of delivery. Contact us through the Start a Claim page and we will resolve it.
Live plants give shrimp constant grazing surfaces, sheltered hiding spots for shrimplets, and promote the natural biofilm growth shrimp feed on. Every plant is shrimp-safe and ships safely alongside livestock.
