Ivory Mystery Snails are the all-white variant of Pomacea bridgesii — a creamy, almost porcelain look across both shell and body. They show up especially well against dark substrates, driftwood, and densely planted backgrounds.
Like all Mystery Snails, they are peaceful, fully shrimp-safe grazers that reproduce only above the waterline (pink egg clusters near the rim). They reach about 1.5–2 inches in shell diameter, prefer harder water for shell development, and need calcium supplementation in softer setups.
Care Notes
Mystery Snails need calcium for shell health. Hard water naturally provides this; in softer tanks a cuttlebone or calcium-rich sinking wafer will prevent shell erosion and pitting. Keep the water level a few inches below the tank rim — Mystery Snails are escape artists and will climb out of uncovered tanks.
Never use copper-based medications, algaecides, or plant treatments in a tank with Mystery Snails. Feed blanched vegetables (zucchini, spinach) 2–3 times per week in addition to what they graze naturally. Healthy Mystery Snails are active across the entire tank — glass, hardscape, and plants.
Ivory Mystery Snails are creamy off-white from shell to foot — a clean, almost ghost-like presence that contrasts beautifully against dark substrate and green plants.

Mystery Snails do not eat healthy, established plants. They graze algae, biofilm, and decaying plant matter. Occasional nibbling on very soft leaves can occur if underfed — supplement with blanched vegetables to prevent this.
How do I support their shell health?+
Mystery Snails need calcium. In hard water tanks this is naturally available. In softer water, add a cuttlebone or calcium-rich sinking wafer. Shell erosion or pitting is the first sign of calcium deficiency.
